About the Opportunity Our client, a leading ASX-listed real estate investment trust (REIT), is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a diverse commercial property portfolio while working closely with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting – Prepare monthly reports, reconciliations, and variance analysis for a portfolio of commercial properties. Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting, collaborating with asset and finance teams to ensure accurate projections. Lease Accounting & Revenue Recognition – Maintain lease data, ensure correct rent escalations, and account for revenue under AASB 16. Statutory Compliance – Support the preparation of BAS, GST, and other tax obligations in line with regulatory requirements. Business Partnering – Work closely with asset and property managers as well as key stakeholders to provide financial insights that drive decision-making. About You You are an analytical and commercially minded accountant with a strong foundation in financial reporting and a keen interest in the property sector. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy contributing to the financial success of a property portfolio. Qualifications & Experience: Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, ideally within property, real estate, or funds management. Will also consider first movers from business services or audit Proficiency in Yardi (highly desirable) and advanced Excel skills High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving Why Join Our Client?
